About our School

At Sol Montessori School, we will offer a Montessori education that is consistent with the Montessori method and will use a lot of the same work materials that Dr. Maria Montessori developed in the early 1900’s. Through scientific observations, she determined that children learn best when learning at their own pace and given the choice of his or her own activities.

We believe each Montessori classroom is a community, with respect for others at the core.  And the community formed in our programs goes beyond the classrooms to encompass the entire school and beyond.  Combined with our whole child education, we are creating lifelong learners and good citizens.

Children have a natural desire to learn and will act joyfully if given the opportunity.  Your Montessori teacher will work with your child to encourage him or her to explore areas that excite and engage him or her.  As children master an exercise, we guide them to the next appropriate challenge.  The lead teacher in each classroom is a Montessori certified teacher.

It is our belief that a child learns best when every aspect of a child’s development   -- cognitive, physical, social, and emotional – is nurtured.  Our classrooms are designed to promote self-direction and self-discipline, to allow children to create their own substantive body of knowledge through exploration and observation, following their own interests at their own pace.  Montessori certified teachers observe and offer guidance and support while children build their cognitive and creative abilities.   The result?  Children who are engaged and interested in learning, and eager to advance.
